A new entrance is being built on Floor 1 facing the Vasa area, which will strengthen the north–south main axis of the campus, making the Chemistry Building more visible and improving accessibility. New study areas adjacent to the entrance will bring activity and vibrancy to the space.
The current handling of hazardous waste has shortcomings, and for this reason a new room for hazardous-waste management is being constructed.
The entrance will include a new elevator, which will be particularly important in relation to the new functions on Floor 10, featuring facilities designed for thesis defenses and other larger meetings.
